My wife and me very much enjoyed our stay in the Hotel Classic at Krakow. This modern hotel is most attractively located in the old centre of the city. The Wawel, the market place, and all the other attractions of the town are in close walking distance. So is the railway station. The rooms are fitted with modern furniture. The bathroom is attractive. All is very clean.Continental breakfast is served in a nice atmosphere. All hotel staff were friendly and did really care. Putting value and price in relation, this hotels deserves a five banana (i.e. excellent) rating. I shall certainly recommend this hotel to all my friends and others who intend to visit wonderful Kracow. Juergen Fay, Germany

On the first leg my of trip in Crakow, I stayed at a hotel that was advertised as being "grand." However, the only thing grand about it was the price. I was happy to have found Hotel Classic. The Classic is fairly small, with only approximately eight rooms to a floor. It is very new --- the hotel driver had to ask where it was --- and so are the rooms and furniture. True, the beds are a bit small. But I found them to be typical for Central Europe. Two stations of English language cable television enabled me to keep on top of events. The dining room is deep in the basement, but is well lit to avoid the feeling of being in the gallows. And contrary to other comments, I found that the staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. The hotel is situated on the edge of Old Town, which is a real plus. It was quiet, as opposed to the first hotel I stayed in. Also, it is in walking distance to the train and bus stations. Next door is a charming coffee shop "Kavieren" and, further down, a wonderful Brasilian restaurant named Ipanema. I know you're in town to eat local Polish cuisine. But after 2 weeks in Europe, a "caiparina" and a dish of "vatapa" really hit the spot. The Hotel Classic is a good value and worth a look. Thom, United States
